Our story

The Margin Society was created from a simple idea that turned into something much bigger than we ever expected.

What started as a monthly moms night out quickly grew into real connection. A group of women who came together for laughs, conversation, and a little time away from everyday life soon realized it wasn’t about the games or the plans. It was about each other.

Somewhere along the way, reading entered the picture.

But we didn’t want a traditional book club. No homework. No assigned chapters. No pressure to show up having finished a certain number of pages. We wanted something that fit into real life.

So we created our own way of reading together.

Each member chooses a color, starts a brand new book, and swaps every month. As we read, we write our thoughts in the margins. Reactions, theories, laughs, questions, moments that surprise us or stick with us. Over time, the books make their way back to their original owners, now filled with the voices and perspectives of friends.

It’s like experiencing a story together, even when we’re apart.

The Margin Society is about more than books. It’s about slowing down, creating space for connection, and finding joy in the small moments. It’s about cozy nights, honest conversations, shared stories, and building community in a season of life that’s often busy and full.

The Margin Edit is where we share those experiences. The books we love, the gatherings we cherish, the routines that bring comfort, and the lifestyle that has grown around reading together.

Our hope is to inspire others to connect more deeply, read more intentionally, and maybe even start their own Margin Society.

Because sometimes the best parts aren’t just in the chapters.

They’re written in the margins.

Welcome to The Margin Society.
